Installed WiFi

Today Tony installed WiFi in the Mens Shed. 




This had been discussed in the last monthly committee meeting and it was decided to go with an LTE Router from Bilal Tech Shop in Shannon Town Shopping Centre and an An Post top up SIM from the Post Office in the shopping centre.

Tony had got these last Tues and tested them at his home before installing today.

It used mobile phone technology and acts as a mobile phone hotspot so you just pay 15 euro a month.

Tony and other shedders then successfully connect to this WiFi router.

Unfortunately, the Windows 7 PC couldn't but that will be covered in another blog post.

 The weather was a bit damp to start out trip as we met outside Lidl at 9:45. But our driver, Colman, from Shannon Tours and our 15 seater minibus were excellent :) Our first stop was at the Michael Cusack Centre , which luckily we had pretty much to ourselves and our guides Agnes, Shelia and Martin were very knowledgeable and made our visit fun. Highly recommended. And the local scone ands tea and coffee were delicious and very welcome giving us all a chance to discuss the history explained by our guides. Health and Wellbeing Toolboxes

Rebecca McLaughlin ( Health and Wellbeing Manager,  Irish Men's Sheds Association,  rebecca@menssheds.ie ) stopped by the shed earlier today to deliver well being toolboxes. We recently had chair yoga and cooking sessions to promote wellbeing. We now have 10 of these now. 9 for other sheds :) They are filled with information sheets on how to help yourself maintain good mental and physical well being. Sustainable Development Goals met: By providing an up-to-date collection of leaflets regarding mental and physical health (SDG 3, SDG 4) and where to obtain these services (SDG 17).
