(Thurs 15th Aug 2024) Day Trip to Cusack Centre, Birds of Prey and Ailwee Caves

The weather was a bit damp to start out trip as we met outside Lidl at 9:45.

But our driver, Colman, from Shannon Tours and our 15 seater minibus were excellent :)

Our first stop was at the Michael Cusack Centre, which luckily we had pretty much to ourselves and our guides Agnes, Shelia and Martin were very knowledgeable and made our visit fun. Highly recommended.

And the local scone ands tea and coffee were delicious and very welcome giving us all a chance to discuss the history explained by our guides.

The following 360 movies on YouTube are best viewed in VR headset with YouTube definition cranked up to 4K resolution :) and capture a little of our visit.

Next, Colman drove us the the Birds of Prey Centre where the guides explained in detail and exercised an African vulture and two Harris hawks

Again the following 360 movies on YouTube are best viewed in VR headset with YouTube definition cranked up to 4K resolution :) and capture a little of our visit.

Ger made a friend in the next video and I think it thought my Ricoh 360 camera was a mouse! :)

Next Colman drove us a short distance to the Ailwee caves. Again the guides we great and is amazing to thing a 300m access tunnel (which we used to exit) was just put together by a few fellas in 1992,

After this with stopped at O'Connors Pub in Doolin for a lovely meal before heading back to Shannon Town :)

A brilliant day out!
