Tony is recycling laptop batteries to save money on his UPSs (uninterruptible power supplies)

Tony explained the batteries are 6 euro a piece new while spending 10 minutes pulling an old laptop battery apart can provide you with a haul of nine! His smart home computer and The Things Network gateway (https://www.thethingsnetwork.org/) (that is talking to the Bug Hotel) will now be resilient to 10 minute power cuts! (And Tony is looking forward to learning from Pat and Sean's wooden clock box making skills!)

 The weather was a bit damp to start out trip as we met outside Lidl at 9:45. But our driver, Colman, from Shannon Tours and our 15 seater minibus were excellent :) Our first stop was at the Michael Cusack Centre , which luckily we had pretty much to ourselves and our guides Agnes, Shelia and Martin were very knowledgeable and made our visit fun. Highly recommended. And the local scone ands tea and coffee were delicious and very welcome giving us all a chance to discuss the history explained by our guides.
